3 Reasons Why Marketing With Video Is a Must
You’ve heard that marketing with video is very effective …but you might be wondering why it’s so effective.
Reason One: It’s the fastest way to reach more prospects. Why? How? Well, YouTube is the number two search engine after Google. And that fact is a MASSIVE reason to market with video because there is wayyyy less content on YouTube than there is on Google. Right? So, if you publish a web page or a blog post and it’s just text, well, you know it’s going to be hard to get on page one of the search results. It will take some time with SEO best practices. But if you have a video of that content and you upload it to YouTube, you are going to be found quickly by someone doing a search …and not only on YouTube – Google will list your video in their search results too.
Action Item: Make a video version of your content. You can do this by recording yourself reading the text and then adding it to Powerpoint and making a video.
Reason Two: People like watching videos. That’s why YouTube is the number two search engine! Give ‘em what they want.
Reason Three: With video, you can get quick page one rankings in the video search engine results page with – even with competitive keywords.
Ok, so how do you do that? What you’ll have is a page or post with a video on it – not a YouTube video. The same video can be hosted on YouTube (for the reasons above) but you’re going to want to have your own video hosted on your server or on EzS3 so that you can get traffic coming directly to your site, not via YouTube.
1. Use a WordPress blog and follow SEO best practices: your keyword in the title, the description, in anchor text to other pages on your site, friendly urls. So on the page where you have your video, you’ll want about 300 words of text optimized for your keyword.
2. Create video sitemaps for your site.
3. Get links to your page with keywords in the anchor text, if possible.
It’s sooo much easier to get traffic when you are marketing with video as opposed to just text. Enjoy!
